Tuition
Program Costs
There are a number of costs associated with the Program in Occupational Therapy. Costs will vary by student, but generally student should plan for items such as:
-
Tuition/Fees (can include University-sponsored health insurance)
-
Books/Supplies
-
Housing/Living
-
Miscellaneous
-
Transportation
These categories are based on the University of Minnesota cost of attendance figures used to determine financial aid eligibility. These figures can be used as a starting point for planning a budget regardless if a student is actually applying for and receiving financial aid. However, prospective students should take into account that these are estimates and personal budgets may vary widely given an individual’s particular circumstances. For example, one student’s living expenses may differ greatly from another. The tuition and fees estimates will not vary between students. The OT Program is six semesters and each student takes the same classes in the same sequence. For more information about the OT Curriculum visit the Master of Occupational Therapy Curriculum page.

**The University sponsored health insurance for Academic Health Center (AHC) students is not included in these sample tuition/fees summaries. AHC students are automatically charged health insurance, but may opt out if covered by a U.S. employer based plan (not self-insured), or the University of Minnesota Graduate Assistance Health Benefit Plan. For more information on AHC Health Benefit Plan and Coverage visit http://www.bhs.umn.edu/insurance/twincities/ahc/index.htm.
While the actual tuition rates for the class entering in Fall 2009 will not be finalized until the Board of Regents approve the tuition in May 2009, it is likely that there will be an increase in tuition costs. On average tuition increases 6-8% each year. The tuition information will be updated as the actual costs for the 2009-2010 year are available.
